Still Flooring Customers After 80 Years!

This year is our 80 year celebration of trading in Darlington. The business has evolved a lot over the years and is now run by Claire Kerr along with her husband Graeme who carry on the legacy of providing all types of carpets and flooring to homes and businesses across Darlington and the surrounding areas.

Claire’s Grandfather was the original Mr Burt and he was supported by his wife Doris when the flooring business was established immediately after the end of the Second World War in 1945. Flourishing in Gladstone Street throughout the 1950’s, 1960’s and 1970’s it was Claire’s Mum, Marion, who really expanded the offering when she and her husband Barry took the bold decision to move to a large building on Valley Street in the 1980’s. After a number of premises moves over the next couple of decades the shop has now been on East Mount Road for over 20 years where we have all the leading flooring brands available.

There has certainly been a lot of change in flooring since 1945 but what remains is our commitment to service, quality and price.
